Employees will perform construction materials laboratory testing as directed by the lab supervisor or department manager.
Essential functions in the lab and duties will include the following:
compressive/flexural strength testing of concrete, laboratory compaction characteristics of soil (proctor) testing, soil classifications, aggregate gradations, inputting of laboratory data, documentation of laboratory quality procedures, and equipment calibrations.
Will also assist in the field of soil, concrete, and asphalt testing on project sites.
Includes working/communicating with contractors, supervisors, subordinates, local officials, and the general public.
Employee will be involved in the daily operations of the lab including training, development, and performance review, utilization of equipment and facilities, safety oversight, quality of services and work product, timely delivery of services and deliverables, and adherence to policies and procedure.

Must be able to track and organize large amounts of data to provide quick responses to questions.

Able to acquire laboratory certifications/accreditations.
4.
Must maintain laboratory facilities and calibrate equipment.
5.
Assist engineers as requested and perform other duties as assigned.
6.
Knowledge of plans, specifications and standards, acceptable construction practices, construction materials, methods and equipment used in construction and engineering.
7.
Knowledge of mathematical functions, including algebraic, geometric, and trigonometric calculations related to engineering.
8.
Ability to read and comprehend construction plans and all other documents.
9.
Must follow safety rules and guidelines.
Responsible for creating and modeling a safe work environment; demonstrate safety practices.
10.
Promote continuous quality monitoring and improvement of laboratory functions.
Monitor quality standards and practices.
11.
Under close supervision of higher-level technicians or staff professionals, assist on tasks and perform basic testing and observations duties.
12.
Provides clear documentation of findings and results.
13.
Communicates information to Project Manager and discusses accuracy of data in preparation for submittal.
14.
Submits documentation and communicates results as directed by the Project Manager 15.
Will be placed in a progressively increased role of training and responsibility in work assignments.
16.
Be responsible for maintaining quality standards on all projects.
Requirements:

Valid driver's license and reliable transportation 3.
Proficiency in computer software (Microsoft and other Lab Reporting software) Job Type:
